Description
Here’s a nice display item, or a very useable set if you want to shoot film with old 4x5in glass plate holders. Therese metal sleeves are meant to be loaded with film, and then placed where the 4x5 glass would have fit in those old plate holders. Have you ever wondered why4x5in and other large format film is slightly smaller than those dimensions? Because they initially started making it so it would fit in these sheaths, but of course the sheaths take up a couple of millimeters on the sides, so film had to be cut smaller , and regular film holders of course were also starting to be made at the same time, so they were made to accommodate same size film. There’s16 in total. 7 are or unknown make, the rest appear to be Kodak. Some Kodak ones are marked, and some aren’t but construction is identical on those. Most appear unused, but some scuffing might be present due to age and storage. All in all a great find if you want to shoot some film with your glass holders, or maybe build a falling plate camera. Feel free to ask question if you have them. I’m a photographer myself, and have been buying and selling equipment on here for over 20 years now. I always do my best to describe the items as accurately as I can. Take a close look at the pictures, I try to show all possible flaws there, and so in real life my items look better than on here. Good luck bidding.
